Shiny Kicks

Hi there!
Sneaks have always been extremely comfortable and the source of tired feet's relief, but recently they have turned into the stylish, still casual shoe. Street style photos have majorly encompassed the use of sneakers with non athletic outfits, especially during fashion weeks. I use sneakers quite often, as I have a pair of Supergas and Juicy Couture ones, and the rubber sole rims can get pretty dirty! From the dirty snow, puddles, and everyday walking, the rubber surface needs to be whitened once and a while. I wanted to show you all how I clean my sneakers to get them to look brand new!

You will need:
-dirty sneakers
-409 spray
-a toothbrush
-gloves
-a wet rag

So here are my dirty kicks! The yellow tint with specks of dirt on the rubber part bugs me. I always like my shoes to look in tiptop shape.

Spray 409 onto the toothbrush and you can also spray it onto the shoe, just be sure to cover the fabric part, as it has a bleach component to it.

Scrub, scrub, scrub! The 409 will foam as you brush and the more you work at the surface, the more dirt will come off! Wipe the remaining 409 off with a wet rag and give the surface an extra polish with a little elbow grease.

Here is the before (left) and after (right). The results are awesome and will make your shoes come close to what they originally looked like in a matter of 10 minutes!

Comment what you think!

30° in NYC

Hi there!
Snow has fallen and has not wanted to stop! It is freezing in the North and everyone seems to be tired of the cold. Many places can look spectacular in the snow and one of those destinations would be Central Park. I am fortunate to live very close to my favorite city, New York City, and so I was there for a day trip and wanted to show you some highlights and my outfit.
Even though low temperatures froze the city, many people were out taking pictures, sledding, and just strolling about.

I wore black leggings with gold zipper pockets from Zara with brown lace up boots from Call it Spring. I paired them with a simple top (not shown) and a black peacoat from Old Navy. As for accessories, I wore a wool beanie cap, a big fuchsia scarf with black trim, and black gloves (not shown.) It both kept me warm and was put together!

The fountain was frozen and people could stand in it!

If you have not made it yet to the The City, I definitely recommend going, as the trip can be simple, just as walking in the park can be such a beautiful sight!

Collarless coats are the epitome of elegance and the timeless look that I have been looking for. From prints to textures to solids, a simple silhouette can be the perfect touch to any day or evening wear. Its versatility is amazing, which is exactly why I am coveting it! Here I chose a few that you can shop from!

Cool & Casual

Hi there!
As it is freezing in most parts of the U.S. at the moment, we are in dire need for fashion that will keep us toasty! New York Fashion Week occurred this past week and major props should been given to all designers, buyers, and celebrities that attended because they all put together fabulous street style that kept them comfortable even in 30 degree snowy weather. Aside from a coat, gloves, and scarves, what is worn under that is very important, so I thought it would be a good idea to show you three simple outfits anyone can put together that you can wear under a big and cozy coat.

1.  Here I paired a dark grey, loose cardigan with a printed, hunter green tank top. For bottoms I chose thick, black leggings that have gold pocket zippers (are not shown) and put on brown lace up boots. I added a bit of minimalistic jewelry with a gold necklace.

2.  For this simple outfit I chose to wear a navy, 3/4 sleeve blouse with black waxed jeans and sparkly ballet flats. Although this outfit is very basic, the wax jeans and sparkle, along with the neon pink and grey tassel bracelets, make it a super comfortable outfit with surprise.

3.  Finally, for this outfit I paired dark skinny jeans with a cozy butterfly pullover and the brown lace up boots. I added dark silver bracelets to complete the look.

Comment what you where in the winter!

The Fashion Tag

Hi there!
I have never done a "tag," but I found this one, "The Fashion Tag" and thought it would be a great way to get to know me and my style better!

1. What is your favorite style to wear?
My style is a mix of girly, comfortable, and relaxed but then primed and structured later on. It depends on where I am and who I'm with because at home you could find me with leggings and casual wear on majority of the time, but for school and going out I like to get more dressed up, looking more put together and with things I enjoy wearing.

2. Who is your fashion role model?
My fashion role models at the moment are Hailee Steinfield, Lily Collins, Lupita Nyong'o. They each value clothing and are so graceful, yet daring with their red carpet wear.

3. What do you always have on?
I always have skinny jeans on, but I also love black leggings. Since I dance, I am used to and most comfortable in leggings, but outside of exercising and being at home, I usually wear dark skinny jeans. For school I wear a lot of tanks and cardigans because it is extremely comfortable, but put together.

4. What are your favorite jeans?
My Favorite jeans are ones from American Eagle and Old Navy that have the darkest wash, but are not black because the darker they are, the more slimming. I definitely lean to skinny jeans, but I do own flare and boyfriend, as well as light wash to give my closet more variety.

5. What are your favorite sunglasses?
My all-time favorite sunglasses are my bargain, tan, cat-eyes from Old Navy that I have used for probably 5 years. I do not trust myself to own valuable sunglasses because I throw them in my handbags and would probably break... but these are indestructible!

6. What are your favorite shoes?
At the moment my favorite pair of shoes are these wedge boots from a shoe store called Spring. They are lace-ups that have faux fur on the inside and a 1-2 inch wedge. I love them because they were extremely affordable and can be dressed up and down.

7. Who influenced you to write about fashion?
Any type of magazine, as well as laurenconrad.com and cupcakesandcashmere.com, inspired me to write about fashion. I've always loved to read magazines of any sorts, for the pictures mainly, but then also for the content and seeing what people are enjoying during that season. I enjoy creative writing, and I think blogging can be considered that! Both websites/blogs are very well developed and have the best posts, so I look forward to reading them everyday.

8 What is your favorite store?
My favorite store at the moment would have to be Zara, because they have classics and unique pieces that create a wide variety of outfits.

9. Who is your favorite fashion person on YouTube?
I like watching Zoella's videos because she is very positive and relatable, but fashion-wise, probably Chanel's or J Crew's channels because they inspire me.

10. What is your favorite fabric?
I still do not know the exact names of them but I like silk and cotton blends, although they can be hard to sew. Pretty much any fabric that is flowy and soft makes me like them!

11. Who is your favorite model?
My favorite model would have to be Gigi Hadid because she seems like a very sweet person and is around my age. Her photos and runway are amazing, she is dating Cody Simpson, and I love her clothing and overall personality!

12. If you had $5,000 to spend on any one item, what would it be?
I'm a big saver but I would spend it on a black Celine bag, or any Chanel tweed jacket!

13. Heels or flats?
I love both! It really depends on where I am going, but being 16 and going to casual places everyday, I would have to say flats. They can be used for parties and events too!

14. What purse do you currently use?
I currently use a black Longchamp handbag that is slightly old, as it was handed down to me, but it is so convenient and yet stylish and timeless.

15. Is fashion in your blood or your jeans?
I have been sewing since I was little and have gravitated to doing creative things everyday. Everyone says I have "designer's eye" so I think it would run in my blood.

Hope these gave you a better look at who I am and I tag anyone who reads this!
Comment below if you decide to do it, so I can read it!

What do Olympians wear?!

Hi there!

The Winter Olympics have arrived to Sochi, Russia and have been the source of my entertainment for the past few days! During the opening ceremony the United States wore pretty interesting outfits designed by Polo by Ralph Lauren. With an almost "ugly sweater" feel to them, I find them to be unique to America as most of the other countries came out with sleek, modern, and sporty outfits, equally making a statement. Although I favor more of a formal outfit perhaps a peacoat and white pants and a beanie, Ralph Lauren's sketch encompasses an athlete's comfort within an outfit that represents the country. What did you think about them?

Currently Craving - The Girliest Moto Jacket

Hi there!
I was surfing the fashion world wide web and stumbled upon this adorable pink biker jacket! I have been loving leather biker jackets because they can be compared to a jean jacket...for the night! Although at first glance they scream masculinity, this type of jacket can be worn with the flirtiest, florialiest, most feminine blouse and would perfectly balance out the sleek leather of the jacket. A great twist that has been growing more and more popular is taking the wicked and fierce silhouette of biker jackets and making them out of wool, tweed, or plain cotton. On top of that, we are now seeing more colored ones. This rosy pink jacket is wool and seems like the ultimate match.

If you are in love with it as well, you can find it here:

Links I Love: DIY edition

Hi there!
I am introducing a new series called Links I Love (modeled after Cupcakes and Cashmere's series) but today all the links will be related to DIY websites that I love and look at for inspiration. I usually skim each if it's a rainy or slow day, but sometimes use them when I am looking to make an organizer for my desk, or how to revive a boring tee into one with a quote or design.

Hope these sites fuel your creativity, just as they do for me!
