Currently Craving: Culotte Shorts

Hi everyone!
It's finalllllllyyyyy Summer! (cue music and balloons) I am so excited for this summer, with a major trip to Paris and Barcelona coming up, as well as Florida, and just plain-old hanging out! When thinking about these trips, my goal is to pack lightly, which I never have achieved. I've planned so far that I need versatility and neutrals with few accessories so that there isn't any heavy baggage. An item that I have recently learned the name of are culotte shorts, which are airy, light, and full legged shorts that somewhat resemble a skirt. Some are knee length and do not sit well with my style, so I personally would only wear short ones like these picks and would easily incorporate them into my closet or my suitcase! It's all about comfort, but it seems like you can dress them up or down, so I could see myself wearing them a lot during this season!

Beat the Heat Hairstyles

Hi there!
Here comes the sticky and humid days where dealing with added heat from a mop of hair is not something many of us want to deal with! From braids to buns to ponytails, pulling your hair away from your face is key to keeping cool as well as creating some cute styles. I personally lean towards throwing my hair up to a messy ponytail, but after looking through some inspiration, I am definitely going to add a ribbon to tie it with on hand. Each of these are perfect for a sweltering day and here's how to do them!

Braided Topknot: Make a ponytail, braid and secure it with an elastic, and wrap as if you were wrapping non-braided hair into a bun. Lock with bobby pins.

Put on a Hat: Hair down or into a low hairstyle, just throw on a hat like this cute fedora.

Layering in the Summer?

Hi there!
I've learned a new art - the art of layering for the summer! I never gave this concept much thought other than the normal dresses with cardigans or denim jackets, but to completely layer clothing items like I did today with my Brandy Melville sweater and Old Navy romper, was a different story. After browsing through some inspiration, layered outfits have been made with maxi dresses and crop tops on top, or a light sweater over a sleeveless collared shirt, and a pair of shorts. The key is to keeps the layers light. Another tip; if it's not cropped, crop it, like I did with this sweater which I tied into a little knot! The lighter the weight, the shorter and the more air that can travel through the fabric will save you as the days get warmer and warmer.

Friday Favorites!

Hi there!
These past days have been nothing but rain and humidity, but the good news is that there was a lot to love this week! The last week of school can be very fun, but also heavy loaded with work. Regardless, I can see the finish line in site, so here's some of my favorites.

Favorite dessert idea: Cookie sticks - I've been dying to try baking these because I am obsessed with all baked goods a la chocolate chip cookie.

Favorite "Looking forward to": Lit up Eiffel Tower - One month to see this beauty!

Favorite mix: Jelly sandals and socks - This look could go awfully wrong, but the pair can be so unique and only pulled off by a few.

Favorite Tune: Calling All Hearts by DJ Cassidy, Jessie J, and Robin Thicke - Such a "dancey song" with a 70s vibe.

Favorite photo editing app: Studio - It's an awesome and unique editor that allows users to add doodles and text to their photos. Here's one I made for last Christmas!

Ready for Summer Wishlist - Forever 21

Hi there!
I can not believe I will be taking my dream vacation to Europe in less than a month! I've realized that I better get myself prepared for the possible sweltering heat and miles of walking that will take place Also, with school ending within a few days I also have found myself online shopping very often, searching for a few key pieces and some other pieces I don't think I can live without this summer. My wish list is extensive from many different stores and with many possible DIYs that I hope to accomplish. I love to get sewing and crafting ideas that I can translate on my own or get for a bargain, which always feels great. Forever 21 is a trusty, affordable store that I always online shop at when a new season or event is coming up. I wanted to share a piece of my current summer wish list and spread the summer cheer!

"Chase that disco ball around till I don't remember"

Hi everyone!
One of my favorite places in the whole world is New York City and I'm lucky to live close by! A day in the city can be very planned out, or not, as it was the case when a spontaneous parade took up major streets. A nice climate of 80° was in the air and that meant full spring gear; a day dress, light cardigan, sandals, and a cute pair of sunnies! You can never go wrong with a white dress, because it will beat the heat and you can pair it with anything and let you have fun with accessories. I've been leaning towards tan and beige with white this past week and I don't really know why! I also stopped by Laduree to pick up some macarons for the first time and they were delicious and I definitely recommend paying a visit to their Parisian inspired shop. Walking around, window shopping at Bergdorfs, Tiffany's, Laduree, and the Plaza Hotel, in the great weather was a perfect day in my favorite city, filled to the brim with fashion inspiration.

4 for All - Necklaces

Hi everyone!
Necklaces is that accessory that women wear at all ages to add that extra little touch to their outfit. Ranging from statement necklaces to thin chains, styles vary and can appeal to everyone. Recently I've been loving the look of layering necklaces. I haven't been afraid of trying to layer golds with silvers an other colors because it can be tricky, but looks great in the end! It's important to keep in mind what you're wearing and where you are going when choosing the perfect necklace.

Single strand necklaces are always the way to go! You can play it safe with a simple chain and initial pendant, like this one from Stella and Dot which has become a part of my school day outfits. Sweet necklaces like this also make perfect personalized presents

What has become my jewelry uniform is layering two or three simplistic and minimal chain necklaces. I like to mix tones like silvers and rose golds and to display them at different lengths. Layering small necklaces like this are perfect for anything and everything!

For a delicate and dainty look, this necklace is nothing but soft tear drop shaped baubles that create a statement. A necklace with multiple rows and a large volume is perfect for nicer occasions like dinners or parties. Match ones like this with colors that it features or in their families and be sure to not layer with these.

This cerulean blue and gold chain statement necklace from a boutique in New Hampshire is the perfect pop of color and sense of exquizidness for any outfit. I like to pair it with a black chiffon dress and wedges or any neutral top to play it safe. This one-row necklace is great for any occasion ranging from brunch to a birthday outing!
