Currently Craving: Birkenstocks

Hi everyone!
I don't know about you but I have never really loved the look of Birkenstocks. The earthy, masculine structure hasn't always appealed to me, until recently! When Birkenstocks last emerged into the fashion bloggersphere this spring, I couldn't stop wondering how they were able to make them work, but these bloggers (like Sincerly Jules) did amazingly. They magically pair these with casual outfits featuring denim shorts and fedora hats, as well as chic sundresses and jean jackets. As I have learned, the shoes come in tons of colors ranging from the original beige to metallics and neons. The structure of the shoe looks very comfortable for the arch and for walking, although I have yet to try them on! Ill definitely will be trying these this season and hopefully adapting them into my wardrobe just as all these awesome bloggers have.

Don't stop doin' what you're doin'

Hi there!
I'm going to continue posting outfits of the day on a weekly basis and today I have not been able to stop listening to 5 Seconds of Summer's new song, Don't Stop. Such a dancey song and the boys are beyond cheeky too! Have I ever mentioned I'm a major fan girl? Anyways today I'm wearing a baseball cut tee from Forever 21, my trusty American Eagle jeans, and my new white converses. I put my hair up into a messy ponytail, and wrapped a section from my crown all the way around the side of my head and around the ponytail itself. Going for a relaxed, slightly sporty look, this outfit does the trick on this half day at school and is classified as another of my "go-to" ensembles. What do you do on a half day or day off from school? And hope you all had a relaxing, patriotic Memorial Day!

White n' Tan

Hi everyone!
I can not wait till the sun gets a bit stronger so I can bask in the sun. Not only is it super relaxing, but a nice tan always radiates a glow! One of the best tricks is to wear colors that accentuate or make you look tanner. White is a color that does so, but I have never really though about wearing it as nail polish. Thank goodness this trend is rising because it is looks very minimalistic and beyond sleek! Another polish that has taken over the runway and street style is nude! Beige tips are delicate, yet slightly more daring than white. Both neutrals are going to be great hits for this spring and summer and will complement your warm weather glow at all times! Hopefully these inspirations will inspire you to try them yourself, just as they have for me!

Help - My Problematic Fashion

Hi there!
So, sometimes we find ourselves searching and searching for the perfect clothing item, and just can not seem to find it. As the weather currently warms up, I have been on the extreme hunt for dark, distressed denim shorts, selling for under $50. It seems as though every teenage girl has found their tried and true pair except me! When it comes to my dream shorts I'm looking for something that does not rise in between the thigh area, a distressed look, not high waisted, and a dark, slimming tone. Denims will always be in trend and a definite capsule basic piece. I thought why don't I ask readers if they've seen anything like it? as you all have the most stylishly true opinions! Here's some inspiration that's fueling my search!

Any idea of where I can find a good pair?

The Go To Outfit

Hi there!
Some of my favorite outfits are the "no thought" outfits. Not only are they comfortable, but they match your mood and just feel good. Mine includes my favorite pair of skinny jeans and a tee, along with simple ballet flats. With temperatures rising these days, cuts are receding, and fabric is getting lighter! Today's outfit literally says a put together outfit does not have to be "couture"! Such an easy-going look is perfect for almost any occasion. What's your go to look?

April Favorites - Attention to Detail

Hi there!
Although it is a little past April, I felt as though the brand new items and clothing that I got this month were too good to not share! From makeup to clothing, these pieces are new and fresh to me and I definitely recommend for you to try them out and be inspired from my choices. April's theme was "attention to detail" which has been completely evident in the tiny details that some, including myself, sometimes forget to note. These little details add beauty to everything about a piece!

Maybelline lipstick: this shade is the perfect shade for everyday wear and shimmer. With outstanding lasting time, the slight color stays on all day!

Maybelline Fit Me Blush: I was in major need of a new blush, specifically compact size and I found this little one at the drugstore and it gives off a great rosey pink for a refreashed look.
Colgate Optic White Toothbrush and Whitening Pen: I don't think anything is a better accessory than a smile; and even better is a white, bright smile. This toothbrush and pen are my teeths new best friend, and it really works!

Black fringe romper: Rompers are such easy and versatile pieces to have your closet as try are one pieces so no need for looking for a top and bottom. The fringe on this one adds the right amount of flair to perfect an outfit.

Printed Shorts from Francesca's: Patterned silk shorts were exactly what I was looking for the spring and these navy and white ones are the perfect balance of comfort and style. I can't wait to wear them!

Nude heels from Vince Camuto: These gorgeously feminine heels are the pair I wore to prom, which I fell in love with. The color with cork heel, snake skin strap and silver buckles are adorable and I can dress them up and down!

Silk peplum top from Madewell: This tank top is one of my favorites because of its flirty peplum and delicate cutouts. This is unlike anything I have in my closet, but it will definitely be one of my staples this spring!

Junior Prom!

Hi everyone!
This past weekend was junior prom - a night that most girls, including myself dream of! As many people began being asked to prom, my first, and most important priority was figuring out what I was going to wear.
Immediately girls started searching the sites parkerny.com and revolveclothing.com, but I knew exactly what was going to happen. Everyone was going to have the same dresses. I was quite nervous about that issue so I literally searched the internet everyday for the perfect dress. Here's what I knew; I wanted it to be pink or purple and short. After days of online shopping, I came across a website that I had never heard before named shoptiques.com. The idea of the site is to create a way for anyone, anywhere, to shop tons of boutiques all around the country. (Surprisingly, I had thought and dreamed about creating a website that allow people to do exactly, but unfortunately someone beat me to the chase!) Anyways, the site is absolutely amazing with a huge, unique variety of pieces and a live chat with a personal stylist to figure out exactly what you want. There I ordered four dresses all to try on and find out which would fit best, but in the end I knew that Keepsake The Label's "When I Look Up" was the one I wanted!

CONTENDING DRESSES

Fortunately, it was one of the only ones that fit well, although I did have to get it altered as it had large arm holes that were cut too deeply. With it, I planned to wear nude heels, silver jewelry, and a black clutch. I kept the look pretty simplistic as the dress itself was a bit loud with the color and flounce. As for makeup, I did it myself and used this look of Lily Collin's as inspiration because of the pinkish tones, long lashes, soft pink lips, and rosy cheeks. I completely downplayed the dark tones in the eyes, but really focused on applying a good amount of mascara and curling my eyelashes as that is my facial feature I like to highlight and adding shimmer just as Lily has on the inner corners of my eyes. For hair, I rarely put my hair up, so I did not think that prom was a good time to wear it up and highly recommend to not do so if you do not feel comfortable. I wanted to achieve loose waves, but my hair is quite short for this and I did not want to shorten it anymore, so my hairdresser and I decided to go with soft curled ends that eventually straightened out as the night progressed, alone with a bit of the makeup.

INSPIRATION FOR MAKEUP AND HAIR

From pre-prom to prom to post-prom, my group and I took a school bus to ride in style. At after prom it changed into black wax jeans, a white bandeau, an embellished blouse, and a low nude wedges (not pictured, but perhaps I'll post it later). Here are some photos of the nights!

FINAL LOOK

I was so excited to share with you all what my look encompassed that night and I would love to hear what your prom nights were like and what you wore?
