DIY tin can ➡ desk organizer

Hi everyone,
With my love to refurbish things into items that I need or want, I will be showing you how to reuse and decorate a tin coffee can into a cute, usable desk organizer for pens, paint brushes, or whatever your heart desires! This project took time to do, but even with it's little bumps, character and quality can been seen in mine and your work! Here is what you'll need:

-tin can
-paper (wrapping paper or stationary) or fabric
-modge podge
-paintbrush
-optional embellishments (pins, other fabric, ribbons)

  • Begin with your coffee can and peel the outside off. Do not worry about the rust patches, as those will be covered up.
  • Measure the circumference and height or the can and measure the paper to the desired amount.
  • Wrap the paper section by section as you paint modge podge on the metal. Take a ruler and gently press the air bubbles out, if you need.

  • Cut out embellishments, whether it is other paper, fabric, ribbon, anything! Paste the modge podge down to the needed area on the cover material and wrap embellishments around.

  • Once everything is dry, apply another coat of modge podge and again, wait for it to dry.
  • Lastly, I am attaching a bow with a few dabs of glue.

And that's it! Here is a new desk organizer to go with my collection. They definitely come in handy and look especially cute when they are personalized by you.

Warm Weather Wishlist

Hi everyone!
Finally we welcomed warm weather with the first day of Spring! I am in total agreement with the predicted trends and can not wait to wear them. The following pieces are what are on my wish list for the beginning of spring, which will most likely grow as the season progresses, and naturally I find what I really need to add to my closet. Each piece is under $75, which is great for a teenager's budget and still can get quality items. It's all about color and happiness this season, so I am trying not to forget to exhibit that through my clothing!wishlist

These pieces can be found here:

Weekly Inspiration

Hi everyone!

Small bursts of inspirations are most definitely the best type of inspiration for me! This week I have made an inspiration board, consisting of pastels, fuchsias, florals, classy but statement art, and a few recent magazine edits, all that I love currently! Trying to encompass everything I have been inspired by this week in one collage may be difficult, but it's very fun and gets your creativity going. This week I was inspired by punchy colored flowers, sunny and light editorials, pastels, Paris, and the start of Spring! Tell me what you have been inspired by!

OOTD

Hi everyone!
I have never truly done an "OOTD" post so I'm very excited to show you a quickly put together outfit that I wore today, featuring my brand new anakrok-styled jacket that I am psyched about! One of my favorite color schemes is navy, white, and bright pink which are very preppyesque, but in this look, I created a sporty, fun school ensemble with this navy anakrok jacket from H&M, a hot pink striped white t-shirt from Gap, dark skinny jeans from American Eagle, and my trusty navy Superga sneakers.

Springing into Spring with these Plum Outfits

Hi everyone!
Spring shortly visited the North East this weekend and it got me thinking about transitional outfits, which I love for the layering and bright colors that I usually wear more often. I've always loved the color plum, some call it red wine, and is now a slightly darker shade of the popular, radiant orchid. Transitional outfits should be perfect for times where the sun may be strong, but there is still a cold wind. I created three outfits sporting their own pieces of plum, that I hope you all can recreate!

   Out#2

1. For a weekend brunch, or even for school, this colorful ensemble includes a teal accented jacket, a plum cozy pullover, light washed boyfriend jeans, and ocean blue ballet flats. As for accessories, a teal slouch handbag, a felt floppy hat, and plum stud earrings finish the look.

   Out #1

2. This more formal outfit is put together by a architecturally cool coat, a flouncy plum dress, and simplistic heels. The sophistication is continues in the black dangling earrings, watch, and super chic sunnies and metallic structured bag. Every piece contributes a form maturity to this outfit perfect for a school event or night in the cit

   Out#3

3. A chunky knit cardigan paired with a dark floral tank top, creates warmth, when matched with white skinny pants and thick heeled booties. A simple necklace and a plum handbag make the look tie together with their pops of color. This is a great outfit for walking in town or going to eat out in the sunny, but maybe chilly start of spring.
